DEVELOPMENT HISTORY
The initial concept of the vehicle was launched in early
1992. It was spurred by the idea that the similar vehicle types currently on the
market were based on a technology that did not utilize hydraulics. It was
evident that a durable and reliable vehicle based on current technology would be
successful in capturing a large portion of the market. The first prototype was
completed in the fall of 1993, this vehicle proved the merit of the concept.
With the assistance of our major suppliers, our product underwent further
research and development. Numerous focus groups were convened with current and
former owners of other all terrain vehicles to critique the next two prototype
vehicles and to provide innovative development ideas. With the completion and
testing of the third prototype, it was evident that the development was a
success; we then delivered the "Triton Predator" to the market in June of 1996.
The current production vehicle
is a revolutionary 8-wheel all terrain vehicle with an innovative
hydrostatic all-wheel drive system. It has received favorable reviews by
discriminating recreational and commercial users alike. The Triton ATV was chosen as the platform for the autonomous (robotic) vehicle
programs of two U.S. based research organizations.
